MARSHA BAKER, Co-Chair
Caregiver
Representing California
"I attended my first Call-on Congress in 2009 with my two sisters after our Dad passed away from stage 4 colon cancer in June 2008 at the young age of 56. Needless to say, my family was devastated by our loss and wanted to save other families from this preventable disease. My sisters and I have been committed CRC advocates ever since."

PAM SEIJO, Co-Chair
Stage IIIc Survivor

"I'm a stage IV survivor and will celebrate 20 years since diagnosis on August 19. I retired from teaching 4 months after diagnosis. I have been married to Manuel for 35 years and have a son, Tyler, in Colorado and a daughter, Lindsey, and son-in-law Nick just seven minutes from my home. I also have two little granddaughters Millie and Marra that I keep and have stolen my heart. I stopped chemo completely for the first time since diagnosis nine months ago and am hopefully cancer-free. This will be my 14th Call on Congress and I dedicate this year and my fight to my dearest friend Rose Hausmann."

"I've been a caregiver twice, first to my father-in-law who passed in 2013 and again to my wife (#HeatherWithTheFeather) who recently passed in December 2019. Their fight continues with me but more importantly, I fight for the caregivers who have to carry a loss that could have been prevented."

"I was a caregiver for my late grandfather. I also have an aunt and a dear sister-friend who are survivors, as well as several CRC Angels. They are the reason I FIGHT! Every person who has ever been and those who will be diagnosed are the reason why I FIGHT. I've been an advocate for Fight CRC since 2016 and a recipient of the 2019 John MacLeod Champion's Award. "

BEN WHITE, Secretary
Stage IIIb Survivor
Representing the District of Columbia
"At age 26, I was diagnosed with stage IIIB colon cancer in an emergency colectomy. I had a temporary colostomy, while I underwent 12 rounds of FOLFOX. I was declared NED in December 2017, and had my ostomy reversed shortly after. Prior to diagnosis, I was a Naval Aviator and flew MH-60 helicopters for the navy. After treatment, the Navy found me unfit for duty and I medically separated from service in late 2018."
